Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data CoinPrime collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. We have tried to write it in plain language.
1. Who we are
CoinPrime provides licensed cryptocurrency exchange services in Kosovo. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our registered company details are published on our About page, and you can contact us at info@coinprime.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email address, phone number and country of residence
- Identity documents and a photograph, for identity verification
- Your bank account details, for payments to and from you
- Cryptocurrency wallet addresses you ask us to send funds to
- Anything you send us when you contact support
Information we generate
- Records of your orders and transactions
- Login and security events, including device and session information
- Technical data such as IP address and browser type
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the service — creating your account, processing orders, making payments. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To meet our legal obligations — identity verification, anti-money-laundering checks, transaction records, and reporting where required. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
- To keep accounts secure — detecting unauthorised access, fraud, and misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting customers.
- To communicate with you — verification codes, security alerts, and transaction confirmations. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary, with:
- Identity verification providers, who check your documents on our behalf
- Banking and payment partners, to send and receive transfers
- Cloud infrastructure providers, who host our systems
- Regulators and law enforcement, where we are legally required to
Our service providers act on our instructions and are bound by contract to protect your data.
5. Where your data is stored
Our systems and your data are hosted in the European Union. Where a service provider processes data outside the EU, we require appropriate safeguards to be in place.
6. How long we keep it
Identity verification records and transaction records are kept for the period required by financial regulation, which is longer than the life of your account — currently a minimum of five years after our relationship ends, and in some cases longer.
This means that closing your account does not delete everything: we are legally obliged to retain certain records even if you ask us to erase them.
7. How we protect it
- Identity documents are encrypted at rest, with access restricted to staff who need it
- Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS
- Access to production systems is limited, logged, and requires multi-factor authentication
- Passwords are never stored in a readable form
8. Your rights
Under applicable data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Ask us to delete data, where we are not legally required to keep it
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Complain to the data protection authority
To exercise any of these, email info@coinprime.com. We may need to verify your identity first — precisely because we should not hand your data to someone claiming to be you.
9. Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function and to keep you signed in securely. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for significant changes we will notify you directly.
